Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
A minimally invasive alternative to open-heart surgery for replacing a failing aortic valve.
TAVR is a catheter-based procedure to treat aortic valve disease. A new valve is guided into place through a small incision, most often in the leg, without needing to open the chest.
For patients who qualify, TAVR typically means a shorter hospital stay and faster recovery than traditional valve surgery.
